“Charismatic Renewal: An Authentic Expression of Catholic Faith”

Millions of Catholics have experienced and have been empowered by the grace of Pentecost in the Charismatic Renewal. The hope the institutional Church has for the Charismatic Renewal is that it should focus on the essential i.e. sanctification, serving others with charism, bearing fruits of the Spirit and loving the Church. The Charismatic Renewal has been perceived by the hierarchical Church as faithful. It has also been accepted in the Church and confirmed by the late Pope John Paul II as being the chance for the Church.

At Pentecost, the disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:1-4). Before the important event, the Lord sent signs such as wind and tongues of fire, which symbolize the Holy Spirit. Then, with the grace of expectant faith, the miracle of Pentecost happened. What exactly is this miracle? The disciples were filled with the personal love between the Father and the Son i.e. the Holy Spirit. In other words, they had an overwhelming experience of the love of God.
