SACCRE has new Council (2009)TheCatholicNews - MARCH 15, 2009, Vol 59, No 6SINGAPORE – Twelve new councillors of the Singapore Archdiocesan Catholic Charismatic Renewal (SACCRE) were commissioned in a ceremony at Church of the Risen Christ on Feb 9. St. Ignatius parishioner Peter Hung, the new SACCRE chairman, thanked the past council for building a good foundation, and expressed his gratitude to Father William Goh for being a source of strength to the movement. "SACCRE‘s focus remains steadfast on leadership formation, leadership renewal and assisting prayer groups to build effective charismatic ministries, such as healing and intercessory prayers, and to use their charisms to bring others to Jesus," he said. Mr Hung added that the SACCRE council aims to continue empowering and guiding all charismatic prayer groups in the archdiocese to fulfil the vision of having all Catholic charismatic prayer groups working together to build a charismatically renewed church that evangelises. The SACCRE council consists of five district councillors – City, East, West, North and Serangoon districts – three leaders for the Malayalam-speaking, Indonesian-speaking and Mandarin-speaking communities, a youth councillor, a secretariat, a chairperson and a vice-chairperson.
